Hey You!

How are you doing? :)  Thing are going pretty well here, super busy, sometimes stressful ha but always good.  My day has been good so far thanks for asking :) I started the day off going back through some of my pictures that I have and got a good workout in, we cleaned the house for a little bit and then left to do our district meeting and now I`m here writing :)

As far as my week went... I was studying in the Liahona to help our branch pres and his wife and I read the talk by Sister Dalton in the last conference called ``Love Her Mother``.  I took notes for myself too ha ha. I`ve got some other scriptures to share with you finally.  First is DC 112:28 and this talks about purifying your heart.  The reason I liked this one was because I was setting goals for myself and trying to find ways to be a better tool in the Lord`s hands.  Next are a couple scriptures which testify of the Book of Mormon that I really enjoyed.  2 Nephi 29:3-9 then go to  Ezk 37:15-17,22.

I studied my christlike attribute this week which was  Diligence. What stood out to me was that our diligence is our way to show our love towards God.  Mosiah 2:21-24.

Anyways.. :)  Thanks for always writting me.  In all honesty it makes my weeks. I`m still waiting for the birthday packages... I`m praying that they get here.  I want you to know how much I love my mission, these wonderful people, the scriptures, time, opportunities, and most of all my Savior Jesus Christ in allowing me to become a new man through the atonement.  Have a great week :) talk to you soon.

Everyone sounds so wonderful :)

So to answer questions:  My cold is gone for the most part :) I really dont think I get that sick, there are other elders much worse off than me ha ha. Something Q´eqchi´ to tell you.. hmm...  ´´Chan xawil Qana´ ´´ it translates to ´´How did you see miss´´ but its basically ´´how are you´´.   To say ´´Thank you´´ you would say ´´B´antiox aawe´´  :)  (btw the sound of an X is ´´sh´´ and the W are ´´kw´´).

As far as work goes, things have been going well.  The work that we have ahead of us is getting people to commit and/or finding new families to teach.  We´ve been working hard and we´ve had some good lessons.  Last saturday we had an amazing lesson where the spirit guided every question I asked him.  However the guy still wouldn't commit to anything, but I know the spirit testified to him so thats all I can ask for :)  We´re still working and working with the branch to get it organzied and what not.  This last week we taught the Branch President and his wife.  His wife is inactive for some time and goes to another church so its rough.  The lesson turned out to be over an hour of Marriage Council haha I wish I could express in words what it was like but I just can't.  People just dont express their love here, its sad.

So this last week we had interviews with our President and his wife.  They are the greatest people :)  With president, we talked very openly and he gave me great suggestions on what I could do with my area.  He answered some of my spiritual questions that were on my mind for a while and it was just great.  With Hna Watts, she feels just like my Mom away from home haha we talked about everything. My companion, things I need to do to make sure I´m being the best trainer for him, etc.

Hey,
Thank you for the Birthday wishes :) It means so much to me. This week was stressful but it was great.  We traveled down to the Capital to get our new companions and we had a little bit of training on how to be good trainers ha ha I finally got some good food in my belly ;) it was amazing ha ha, but I couldnt eat as much as I wanted to. Btw I do NOT like traveling here because its super hot and the roads are super windy, so it makes me motion sick but it went well I didn't get sick this time.

Hmm lets see...  In the lessons it's basically just me teaching and I still dont know this language THAT great but amazingly i`ll get to the end of the lesson and they understood the message and I`m like ``Where did I learn those words?`` its amazing the Lord has blessed me a lot these last couple days.  My companion is Elder Rodriguez from honduras. He likes to cook and clean, so its a little different living with him but its great. We`ve got a lot of work ahead of us and I think there will be some hard times but great times to learn and grow.  I`m still excitingly waiting for your packages ha ha!

Hello There!

I`m super excited to talk to you this week :) Amazing things happened this last week! We did get the baptism :) I will be going to senior companion, but I`ll also be training!! ha ha I`m nervous because I don't know the language that well ha ha. It`ll be an adventure none the less. So, yeah, things are great here, I`m loving everyday.  I`m finding more and more of my weaknesses to work on and its been an exciting challange.  One of the questions I`ve been pondering lately is ``who do I want to be when I come home? What changes do I want to see in myself? There is a lot of things I want to become and I feel the progress already. I sent you some pics, I hope you like them :) I want you to know how much I love you all. Have a great week!

Hey!

I`m doing just fantastic :) how are you? So, things were sweet this last week. Right now all my study time is taken up with the language. And seeing that my companion is leaving, I have a good chance of being senior companion, so I HAVE to know what'
s going on with the lessons and the language.

On thursday morning, my companion had to go to an internet cafe to write up his end of mission goals.  So it took awhile but I just took my scriptures and just started reading. I ended up reading for about 3 hours, and it was amazing how I could learn and feel the spirit in this random little internet place in the smallest town in a 3rd world country.  It amazed me to know the power of the scriptures and the witness of the spirit no matter who you are or where you might be.

So there`s these people we`re teaching where the wife is just the funniest Q'eqchi' lady I`ve ever met.  I was making beat box noises with my mouth and the lady asked what I was doing.  Ha on the spot my comp tells her that its a special language ha ha and he starts doing it too.  So we went back and forth doing weird noises and acting like it was a conversation haha you should have seen the lady`s face ha ha priceless. We`re hoping for a baptism this week with their daughter.

So finally in District meeting this morning we had a sweet activity where we talked about how we`re learning new languages and sometimes we can't communicate every single word that we wish we could, but the most important language is the language of the spirit.  So what we had to do was bear our testimonies without saying a single word.  We had an art book of pictures that we could use as well as our hands, but no words.  It was a very spiritual experience for me. You should try it out for family home evening.

Why Hello There!

My day was wonderful; today we went to this place called Rio Dulce.  It's a pretty touristy place and we went to this castle and bought some souvenirs and I took a TON of photos so you`ll be happy about that. So, with the things I`ve written in my Journal I actually wrote about a place called San Vicente it was an awesome day guided by the Lord. For food,  ha ha it's funny that you asked because this last week I told my comp that I was going to make a competition out of it and keep up with everything he eats cause he eats a lot and I`ve had a hard time eating lately and its messed with my stomach. So we just ate and ate and ate.  Cereal with granola.  PB and J. Cheap Pasta ha ha. There`s a store here where the lady drives to Mexico to get american food ha ha funny huh? It's my favorite store, so I got some cereal bars and stuff like that.  I'm not eating anything like I was before.  I can't eat a lot of food anymore ha ha. I`ve gotten skinnier.  I still want to lose about 8 more pounds, but I still have a lot of time to do that so no worries right? ;)

So, there were two sweet talks I read this last week.  One called `` What the Atoning Sacrifice Meant for Jesus`` By Gerald N Lund and the other is called ``The Fourth Missionary`` but I`m not sure of his name.  You should really look that one up and you`ll know and understand who I want to be and who I WILL be when I come home. You asked me one of the things I`ve learned lately and it would have to come from that talk.  What I learned was that anyone can become anything that they want to. You can't ever say ``thats just the way I am``.  I`ve learned of a lot of my weaknesses and never will I say ``thats just who I am.`` I will become everything I want to be. I want to be Great. As a missionary, as a person, and everything the Lord wants me to be. I know its possible if I do all I can to achieve it. So, this applies to you as well :)

I just want to share my feelings about becoming as humble as Christ. There is a scripture in Corinthians but I don't know where exactly, but it basically says ``He being rich, became poor, so that WE being poor, could become rich`` and with the riches of our Heavenly Father.  Christ humbled himself below everything we`ll ever experience so that we could have everything.  His example to me is perfect and one day I hope I can learn to be that humble.

I love you,

Hello,

I had an awesome week this week!!!  I do have a new companion, but if you want to see who he is then he has a blog. His name is Elder Jared Fadel.  So, for this week we just worked SO hard.  I`ve been so stinking tired at the end of everyday.  We wake up early to study the language an extra hour and we just work work work all day, so at the nights I`m just falling literally into bed.  I feel bad because I haven't had time to write in my journal, but I`m planning on finding time so that I can write the cool stuff that`s been going on.

So, as far as teaching, I do use Preach My Gospel. That seriously has been my key lately.  I like to over complicate things when I explain stuff and with these people, you have to be even more simple.  So i`ve been going back to the basics and just getting down to the pure core of what the gospel is and I`ve seen great differences in my lessons.

As far as my sickness, I`m actually doing a lot better now; I`m not stressing like I was. This last week I ate Crocodile ha ha it was definitely interesting... ha ha  the worst part was having to eat the cartilage and feel it crunch in my mouth.  I`m sure you could imagine right? :)  yeah that was probably the most different thing I`ve eaten so far in my mission.

Keep working hard and strengthening your testimonies.  Always make the BEST decision, not just the easiest. I know this gospel is true and that the Lord anwsers our sincere prayers. Oh and yes, my name is Laj B`ar in Qeqchi.  B`ar means ``Where`` as in ``Where are you`` in qeqchi. Cool huh? Have a good week,

Elder Ryan Ware
